Lady Deborah Chambers QC recently appeared for parents in regard to High Court judicial review proceedings relating to the processes in the Family Court. She submitted that the Family Court was already bound by an earlier High Court decision involving the same parents.

That judgment of Courtney J directed the Family Court to obtain through lawyer for child the views of the children about seeing a psychologist before a registered psychologist‚ report was obtained.

She also argued as a fallback position that children had a right to be consulted about decisions as to whether or not they could be subjected to a registered psychologist‚ report with the accompanying interviews and to have a say on whether or not such a process would be commenced. Lady Chambers was successful in regard to her submissions.
