We are excited to announce that Anna Adams will commence practice as a barrister at Bankside Chambers on 1 July 2023.
Anna is a national-level expert in public, health and regulatory law with over 25 years’ experience in advisory work and litigation, ranging from large-scale public cases through to small, personal matters. She has been a partner with MC (Meredith Connell) for more than 15 years.
After starting as a commercial litigator in New York, Anna’s New Zealand career has spanned public, administrative and local government law (particularly Auckland’s legislation and infrastructure), judicial review, medico-legal proceedings, coroners’ inquiries, human rights, vulnerable persons, privacy and information law matters.
Anna has advised on public policy and regulatory systems, governance and anti-corruption issues in large organisations and previously served as the chair of MC and a board member of the Civil Aviation Authority.
She has a special focus on health law, be it patient, practitioner or hospital, medicines, mental health, capacity, or the treatment environment.
Anna is a seasoned civil litigator and a former Crown prosecutor, and delighted to be joining Bankside: “Bankside is a vibrant and progressive chambers and a natural next step for me. I very much look forward to assisting private, public and international clients solve problems and navigate disputes strategically and constructively, drawing on my 25 years’ experience in New Zealand and the United States.”
