In semester 1 of 2017, Christina Laing (clerk to Simon Mount QC) tied with one other student for 1st place out of 150 law students in the Evidence Law elective at the University of Auckland, School of Law, having achieved an A+ grade.Evidence is a 20-point senior-level course that provides an overview of the rules relating to the presentation of proof in New Zealand courts (civil and criminal) and tribunals, including the rules relating to hearsay, opinion evidence, privilege, examination of witnesses, confessions and the exclusion of illegally obtained evidence.Bankside Chambers congratulates and celebrates this achievement.
