Yesterday, 23 July 2019, Bankside members Christine Meechan QC and John Walton presented at the annual Society of Construction Law conference in Auckland. Christine spoke on liability in construction contracts, and John was on a panel dealing with disputes in construction projects, particularly how not to annoy your arbitrator.

John was also made an Honorary Life Member of the SCL for services to the Society and for his wider contribution to the practice of construction law in New Zealand. This is a significant and generous award, coming on top of John’s invitation to join the prestigious, London based, Society of Construction Arbitrators earlier this year.
