Insurance litigation includes disputes over the meaning and application of insurance policies. However, importantly, it also includes litigation arising out of insurance contracts such as Directors and Officers; Professional Indemnity; and Statutory Liability policies. Almost all areas of commerce are affected by insurance in some way. Consumer insurance is also of heightened relevance at present.
Our members have acted for many of the world’s principal insurance companies and brokers. Engagements range from advice on the application of policies through to acting for insurers and the insured in subrogated matters. Our members have experience in all relevant courts and tribunals (ranging from the Insurance and Banking Ombudsmen to the appellate courts).
